My vacation

Okay, I'm a little slow, but here is a post about my vacation.

We (Marius and I) had a one week vacation on the west coast. We started out by driving 8 hours up to my family's cabin in Haukå, outside of Florø. It was a beautiful drive with lots of very nice nature scenes, so I went ballistic with my camera.

These first three pictures show the view from our cabin. Isn't it just breathtaking? I think so, that's why I had to post THREE pictures :P

We spent a few days at the cabin, with my mother and father and the cat. It was perfect timing, because my parents were going to go home about the same time that we were going to Bergen, so they could drive with us back to Bergen, instead of having to take a bus and then a boat to get home.

It was a relaxing couple of days, basically I spent most of the time reading, but I did manage to get in a few walks as well. My cousin and his family came to visit one day, which was really nice because I haven't seen them in, like, forever.

The weather was mixed, but I was able to get a couple of swims in, too. It's been two years since last time, so I was really happy to be able to swim outdoors again. :) This next picture is of the place where I swim at my cabin:

Yes, I know, there's not a whole lot of room for actual SWIMMING, but I love splashing around there.

So, anyways, after having spent a few days with my family, it was time to meet Marius' family at THEIR cabin. It is located at Askøy, which is an "island" right outside of Bergen. Marius' uncle's birthday is in July, and it's tradition for the whole family to gather there for that. So we spent the rest of the vacation there with his family. Here is a picture taken from the wharf:

We were REALLY lucky with the weather, it was so hot and sunny the whole time we stayed there. Actually it was a little bit too hot for me, but I can't say that out loud. And I was able to cool down with some swimming, too, so I really can't complain. (Seeing as how it's rainy and cold out now, I'm not going to complain about nice weather!)

I was also able to visit a friend who lives on the same "island", and whom I hadn't seen in ages. So it was really good to see her again. :)

All in all it was a very good vacation. It was so relaxing, and it felt like I'd been gone forever when I got home, which was just wonderful. :) It might not be the most exciting vacation for a blogpost, but it was just what I needed!

I should probably warn you, though: I'm REALLY fond of pictures of nature. (You've probably guessed that already, huh? :P) I'm just always looking for that perfect landscape picture. But there ARE a few pictures with people, too, promise! :)
